Art Deco
Art Déco Book Jacket
Atelier 1: Fondements et pratique en design graphique
The mandate was to design a book jacket for a chosen style of architecture. The goal was to create and use cutouts (which explore positive and negative space) as well as to develop patterns and textures that reflect the chosen architectural style. The style of architecture I chose is Art Deco. A popular style of the 1920s and 1930s that can be characterized by rich colours, bold geometry, and decadent detailing. It is a luxurious style that uses symmetrical designs in exuberant forms.
